Editorial standards

How MMG produces direct answers, sources claims and corrects errors.

Direct answers first

Guides answer the user's question in their first substantive paragraph, then explain decisions, steps, examples and exceptions. Readers should not have to click a source just to find the answer.

Evidence and UK jurisdiction

Relevant legislation, HMRC, government departments, devolved authorities, regulators, RICS and MoneyHelper may support consequential claims. The jurisdiction and effective date matter. A reference list alone is not proof of paragraph-by-paragraph verification.

Illustrations versus facts

A hypothetical example must identify its assumptions. We do not manufacture client reviews, qualifications, expert sign-offs, local experiences, search rankings or independent price comparisons.

Corrections and reviews

Factual errors should be investigated and corrected with a dated change where material. Time-sensitive buying, selling, renting and landlord articles require updated evidence and genuine editorial approval before search indexing. This does not imply regulated professional advice.

External quotation links

Pages may link to a separate quote service. The site's illustrative estimate is not a binding price from that provider. A service relationship, payment or editorial influence must not be stated unless it can be verified.
